Coach the workout live
Receive voice and vibration cues while you can still adjust your effort—not only analysis after the session.
The COROS Heart Rate Monitor and compatible COROS watches can broadcast live heart rate over Bluetooth. ZoneCue Cardio turns that signal into proactive voice and vibration guidance while you train.
Requires Android and a COROS Heart Rate Monitor or compatible COROS watch actively broadcasting heart rate over Bluetooth.
Connect COROS
Requires Android and a COROS Heart Rate Monitor or compatible COROS watch actively broadcasting heart rate over Bluetooth.
Activate your COROS Heart Rate Monitor, or open the toolbox on a compatible COROS watch and select Broadcast HR.
Open ZoneCue Cardio and select the broadcasting COROS device from the sensor list.
Choose your workout structure, target zones and goal, then start training.
What ZoneCue adds to COROS
COROS provides capable training, recovery and performance analysis. ZoneCue adds a focused Android coaching layer that responds to the live Bluetooth heart-rate signal throughout the workout.
Receive voice and vibration cues while you can still adjust your effort—not only analysis after the session.
Get an early prompt before or as you cross a target boundary so corrections can stay smooth.
Use maximum heart rate, heart-rate reserve or fully custom zones that match your training plan.
Keep the same goals, workout structures and coaching experience if you change compatible hardware.
One community. Many sensors.
ZoneCue brings users with different sensors into one beta community. Together, testers can share what works, identify connection differences and shape features around real workouts—not one hardware ecosystem.
Join with COROS →Compare zone strategies and workout structures with people using different sensors.
Report real connection behavior so support can become broader and more reliable.
Help prioritize the coaching, goals and insights that matter during actual training.
Learn your zones
Your body uses a mix of fat and carbohydrate for energy during cardio. As intensity rises, that balance gradually changes—it is not an on/off switch.
Easy and sustainable. Useful for recovery and adding activity volume.
Substantial fat contribution, meaningful aerobic conditioning and sustainable for longer sessions.
A stronger tempo effort as carbohydrate demand begins to rise.
Hard threshold work with greater reliance on glycogen and faster fatigue.
Near-maximal, carbohydrate-dominant work that is difficult to sustain.
The useful middle ground
Zone 2 is hard enough to provide a meaningful aerobic stimulus, moderate enough to maintain substantial fat oxidation and easy enough to sustain. With consistent aerobic training, your mitochondria (aerobic engines inside your muscle cells) can become more numerous and efficient, helping you produce more energy aerobically and do more work at the same heart rate.
Zone 2 is not the only valuable training zone. It is simply one of the most practical places to build your aerobic foundation.
Keep the distinction clear
A workout can emphasize fat oxidation without guaranteeing a loss of body fat. Long-term changes in body fat also depend on overall energy intake and expenditure over time.
Heart-rate zones are estimates and vary by person, method and device. This lesson is general fitness education, not medical advice.
